There is traditional music most nights throughout the summer season. There is a local shop for your groceries and a kids playground.

Omey Island is only a short journey from the house, is accessible at low tide by crossing acres of firm sandy beach, either in a car or on foot. Simply follow the direction poles in the sand that mark the way across. The Omey Races ‘Connemara event an alternative to the Galway races for those who prefer sandals to stilettos’ ! takes place annually on the strand in Claddaghduff. Re-established as a tradition in 2001, the annual summer races have been steadily attracting greater numbers every year and last year drew a crowd of almost 5000 people for a wonderful day of sun, sand, sea and of course, horse racing. With up to nine races on the card, there’s opportunities for young, upcoming jockeys to hone their skills, while providing a great day out for spectators.
Cleggan is surrounded by stunning beaches like Sallerna, Rossadillisk and Omey Island other activities include deep sea angling, lake fishing, organised boat trips to Inishturk Island, or why not try your luck at pitch and putt.
