Molly’s Cottage is a fantastic coastal self catering home offering such a cosy, homely welcome situated along the Wild Atlantic Way. Perfect base for either relaxing or touring this spectacular County.

The cottage is situated on a quiet road less than 1 km from a beach, pub and restaurant, Padraicin’s which overlooks the bay and serves fresh fish, shellfish and meat dishes. The well-equipped kitchen is a superb space for creating delicious home-cooked meals or why not enjoy a bbq, dining al-fresco on the large decked area overlooking Clare Island from a distance.

The city of Galway is within easy reach and is bursting with culture, and is a thriving cosmopolitan hub with many festivals and events taking place throughout the year. Explore the Connemara coast and take a boat trip to the Aran Islands. Go scuba diving in Killary Fjord or marvel at the architecture of Kylemore Abbey. With so much to do, this cottage based in Furbo, Co Galway is a fantastic choice for your next Irish break.

From the front door, to your left is a cosy and welcoming sitting room with a gas fire, 3 seater couch and 2 armchairs. There are 2 windows allowing ample natural light.

The open plan reception kitchen area is bright and airy, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and gas hob, dining table to seat 6, from the kitchen area you have a utility room with a door leading to the decked area. Here you will find a small table and chair with window overlooking the garden, washer / drier and microwave.

The cosy dining area with has a stove and tv, the dining area has a table seating 4 with a sliding door leading to the decked area.

Bedrooms:

Ground Floor:

There is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and window overlooking the front garden.

Bathroom with bath and separate shower unit.

Upstairs:

Upstairs you will find a large master bedroom with fitted wardrobes, the window allows a lot of natural light and fabulous views.

The 3rd bedroom is a connecting suite, here you will find a twin bedroom with fitted wardrobe and a double bed with a velux window with views as far as Clare Island.

There is a shower room servicing all bedrooms.

Exterior: Ample parking. There is a large garden to the front of the house. To the back of the property you have a large decked area with outdoor furniture.

Family friendly holiday home: The owner has kindly supplied a travel cot, and a large outdoor table tennis table. There are enclosed hens.

Please note: This house is situated on the grounds of the owners residence. The owner lives to the side of the main residence in a private chalet. Holidaymakers will not be disturbed or interrupted in anyway.

Local Info

Furbo lies along the rugged coastline Connemara, Co Galway and is part of the Wild Atlantic Way. The village is situated between Barna and Spiddal and is part of the Gaeltacht (Irish Speaking) area

Furbo has the best of both worlds as it is set in the peaceful Connemara Country but is only a short drive from bustling Galway City for shopping and its nightlife. There is so much to do in this area that a week is just now long enough – You will be spoilt for choice with the amount of activities on offer!

  • In Furbo Village you will find a pub and restaurant, Padraicin’s which overlooks the bay and serves lovely fresh fish, shellfish and meat dishes and where you can enjoy some lovely traditional Irish music. Throughout the year the pubs hosts various table quizzes, BBQ’s etc
  • Why not treat yourself to dinner in the award winning restaurant at the Connemara Coast Hotel (also in Furbo)
  • Like most of Connemara, you will find lovely sand beaches in and around Furbo
  • Furbo is only 10min drive (12 km) from Galway City via a stunning Atlantic Ocean sea drive, perfect opportunity to take photos of the stunning scenery! You can also take the 424 bus from Furbo to Galway City. There is plenty to see and do in Galway City with such amenities/activities as shops, pubs/nightclubs, restaurants, theatres, museums, tours, bowling, cinema, dog/horse tracks, casinos, aquarium and kids play areas/parks
  • Furbo is 60 Km from Clifden Town, the Capital of Connemara
  • Furbo is located 4.8 km from Spiddal Village; which boasts a charming stone church, traditional pubs, excellent restaurants and lovely sandy beaches. Spiddal is an area which still manages to value the culture and traditions of the Gaeltacht heritage. The Spiddal craft shop and Colaiste Chonnacht is well worth a visit while in Spiddal
  • O’Neachtain Tours: Based in Spiddal, O’Neachtain Tours are a touring company which will show you some of the most scenic views in the West of Ireland. For more information please call 091-553188

  • Why not go island hopping to the Aran Islands! Ferries leave from Rossaveal Harbour everyday (26 Km from Furbo)
  • Why not visit Teach An Phiarsaigh? The small cottage that was home of the 1916 Easter Rising Leader, Patrick Pearse. It is based in Rosmuc Village, 48 Km from Furbo
  • Freshwater and sea fishing are abundant in this area and there is a range of water sports for those who want an active break.

Molly’s Cottage,  is happy to welcome your pet, however we would ask that your pet would not be permitted on furniture or on beds. If additional cleaning is required we may have to deduct this from your damage deposit.

Please note that €200 security deposit is required upon arrival. As long as there are no breakages or damage to the property this will be refunded on departure less the cost of utilities.

Check-in time is strictly from 5pm onwards (If you require a later check-in time please let us know)

Check-out time is strictly at 10am on day of departure.
