“Perfect location in the center of the town. Ideal house for a big group and kids. Would definitely go back to the house.” Arlene October 2019
“Lovely old house in a fantastic location. Literally one minute walk from centre of village but really quiet. House has everything you need and the most comfortable beds ever! Lovely sunny patio area. Would happily stay there again. So much to see and do around Clifden too.”- Geraldine June 2018
“A massive thank you for an excellent stay at Hill House. The house is absolutely beautiful and set in such a perfect location. All of the bedrooms are beautifully furnished with lots of home comforts. The kitchen was very well equipped and was where we spent the majority of our time. Doors opening out on to decking meant children could be inside and out and we felt very safe letting them play. The sitting room was very spacious and although not as comfortable as the rest of the house it provided everything we needed. The location of the house is excellent, although at the top of a very small but quite steep hill you are minutes walk from shops, restaurants and bars. Clifden itself is the perfect holiday town with lots to do and the people are so friendly. Big thanks to Yvonne for handling the booking and all our various requests and Peter for waving us farewell. I would highly recommend Hill House for your holiday.”-Lucy May 2016
The house is beautiful and well-kept with a nice mix of traditional and modern. It was homely with comfy beds and an excellent kitchen. It was well stocked for everything you could think of, even a picnic set and the welcome pack was a great touch and even milk in the fridge for us. The garden was a good size and keeping the children amused was fairly easy as it was great for hide and seek! The location was perfect for town but you couldn’t hear any noise. This would be a perfect spot for those without cars as you can get around Connemara well enough using bikes or the local buses. The only thing I would say is don’t judge it by the pictures as it looks so small from the outside but it is like a warren once you get in there and very big, more than enough room for 8 adults and you don’t walk all over each other. We have stayed in lots places over the years and it is the little touches that make a place memorable and that’s what I would recommend this house on. I would stay there again and fully intend to next year.-September 2015
“Myself and my husband rented this house for one week in March. We had a lovely relaxing time here. We did have a full house for a few days with different family members staying with us and of course our two Westies. The house itself was very well equipped and especially the kitchen as I love to cook and I prepared lots of meals. Everyone commented on how comfortable all the beds were and a good nights sleep was had by all. The location couldn’t have been more perfect and there was no need to use the car if eating out or exploring Clifden town. Also there was no street noise at all. If we ever return to Clifden we would love to stay here again-cosy house, excellent location 🙂 “April 2015
“Booked the Hill House because If it’s character and was not disappointed. Lovely spacious property and tastefully decorated. All mod cons and lots of crockery and cutlery. We were a group of 5 and used 3 of the bedrooms. Enjoyed the lounge and dining room with their window seats. Clifden has a great choice of eating places and enough shops. Maxwell’s does a 3 course menu all night every night except Saturday and the food was really excellent, with great service. Marconi’s is good too. Hire nice bikes for 15 euro a whole day. Walk out to Omey island, take a boat to Inishbofin, visit the Connemara Smokehouse at Ballyconneely. Loved the house, loved Clifden!” May 2014
