  • “A haven of peace and tranquility. Excellent welcome. Warm welcoming hosts. This property is located in a very remote part of Connemara, yet close enough to all amenities. Lovely quiet walks with lots of little beaches and coves, just as you would expect in the landscape in Connemara.
The house itself is large enough to accommodate the number of people advertised and the living areas provide space for fun together times and also solitude and peace and quiet.
The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious with excellent bathroom and shower facilities . Just a few problems with the heating which the owners have undertaken to rectify.” Derbhile Jan 2019
  • “We would highly recommend the Boat Builders Cottage. The house was well-equipped, spotlessly clean, very spacious and comfortable too with stunning views of the sea and mountains. We loved the quiet beautiful beaches on Mweenish and would definitely consider returning.  Sarah and Colm met us on arrival and were very helpful and friendly. The delicious homemade scones were much appreciated too. Hope you have many more happy visitors!” Katie Sep 2018
  • “Great place to stay! We love Mweenish, the house is great(very spacious and comfortable) and the owners are very nice… We will return!” Anne August 2018
  • “Fantastic 10/10. We stayed in Carna for two weeks at the Boat Builders Cottage. The word ‘Cottage’ doesn’t do justice to this beautifully set out glamorous dormer house, the house easily and comfortably accommodated our two families (8 children!), with plenty of bathrooms to avoid any rows. Sarah and Colm gave us the warmest of welcomes and made sure that all our needs were attended to for the duration of our stay. The area itself is one of Ireland’s best kept secrets, the children were able to find a new beach every day….each one better than the last…the children had fun exploring, rock climbing, swimming, flying Kites, building castles… well as experiencing our native language. They all agreed it was the best two weeks they ever had. We are very much missing and pining for the fresh sea air and are already planning to return. We highly recommend this idyllic retreat. “Helen June 2018
  • “We’ve just had a week staying in the boat builder cottage in Mweenish. The very second we walked into the house we were impressed by the entrance hall, then moving into the modern well equipped kitchen, fantastic conservatory area where we enjoyed many sunsets.
Each of the 5 bedrooms was fantastic with new soft quilts and lovely pillows. Really comfy mattresses. Not to mention ensuite bathrooms.
Our weeks stay was absolutely fabulous made even better by this beautiful well equipped holiday home.
The owners were also fantastic too, sharing their knowledge of the local area, best places to eat, shop and visit during our stay.
Now we’re home we’ve already made plans to come back next year, Connemara really is the jewel of the west and has so much to offer.”  Rob June 2018
  • “We stayed at this lovely place over the Easter weekend this year. There was twelve of us and nobody was disappointed.  The house is spotless, bed linen, towels everything is top class.  Very welcoming and helpful owners. They provide all information you need. You can get fisherman contact details who can deliver fresh fish. We had most wonderful lobsters over there. The information about the house what agency provides is very accurate. Would highly recommend! We are definitely going to be back!!!!” Olga April 2018
