How To Spend Your Time in Connemara This Winter

Enjoy Kylemore Abbeys Christmas Weekend taking place on 18th & 19th of November to kick start that Christmas feeling. The weekend will include sampling Kylemore’s delicious Christmas favourites and a chance to have your gifts beautifully gift wrapped in the Kylemore Craft & Design Shop, enjoy the decorated Abbey with four guided tours daily and the little ones can even write their letter to Santa as well as listen to live music.  If you are wondering what is going on for the little ones in the family, well you will be thrilled, there is so much!

 You can visit Wildlands Christmas Wonderland where they can interact with the Christmas Village, Baile Beag with visits from Mr & Mrs Clause.

Loughwell Farm Park will host a winter wonderland which will include a new Santa show, playing some games with the Elf Buddy, a golden ticket to pick a present from Santa Toy Shop (only for those on the good list) and some magic reindeer food to bring home and much more…

The beautiful Brigits Gardens will also have a winter experience which includes hot apple punch on arrival followed by stories with Mrs Clause and a treasure hunt with the elves, not to mention a magical Santa Show, photos with the man himself, and a special candle to take home to light on Christmas Eve.

There will be a Christmas craft fair taking place in Connemara National Park on 26th of November where you will get the chance to pick up some locally crafted gifts for loved ones that make the perfect Christmas gift. There is another Christmas craft fair taking place in the Marion Hall, Tullycross, on 9th of December where again you can pick up the perfect Christmas gifts while supporting the local community.

If you are interested in making some crafts yourself the Connemara National Park will be running a Christmas Door Wreath Workshop on 16th of December and a Christmas Table Wreath Workshop on  17th of December, they are free to attend but booking is required.

The official turning on of the Christmas lights in Clifden will take place on Friday 1st of December with the Children’s Choir and the Ignite Gospel Choir singing Christmas carols promising a joyous and happy evening for everyone with late night Christmas shopping until 9pm.  Friday 8th of December will kick off another weekend of festive activities in Clifden Town, to keep up to date with Christmas in Clifden check the page regularly .
