New Year’s Resolutions
It is that time of year again, people are making (some, already breaking) their 2015 New Year’s resolutions. Let’s round up the Usual Suspects shall we? Stop eating greasy food, lose weight, quit smoking….promises to break our bad habits, start a New Year with a clean, healthier, (Let’s be honest) boring slate. I don’t know about you but I hate New Year’s resolutions…especially any one which involves me, a weighing scale and eating rabbit food for 3 weeks, before in a blind fit of rage (and hunger) eating a jar of Nutella in one sitting….
I don’t know what it is about the 1st of January but we instantly feel crippling guilt over the previous week’s activities; which involve a lot of over indulgence and lazy days in front of the TV. But come on, it’s Christmas, that is what it’s all about!
Alas I digress, the point I am getting at is for me New Year’s resolutions are usually quite negative. You are looking at your flaws and vowing to change those nasty habits for the year ahead. I think there should be less “STOP” and more “GO” when it comes to our resolutions. Let’s stop making resolutions which are to purely torture ourselves and go make ones we can enjoy (and keep). Always wanted to run a 10K? Then do it! Think you have a budding artist in you, take a class. Need some inspiration, check out our 2015 brochure; we have a list of local activities and an events calendar for the year. You may find something new or something you always wanted to try!
